Date: Mar. 28
Time: 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Location: Alamo Drafthouse

On March 28, 2015 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Alamo Drafthouse, Lubbock Liberty and Republicans Against Marijuana Prohibition (RAMP) will co-host The Effects of Marijuana Prohibition. Join us for a look at how marijuana possession became a crime in 1937 and the economic, criminal justice, and medical implications of the nearly 80 years of prohibition that have followed. The Texas Legislature has before it a number of bills that consider reforming marijuana laws. Delve into this hot topic with serious discussion from experts and a little Reefer Madness (1936 Film).

We will hear from Audrey Redford Graduate Research Assistant for the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University and PhD student in the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics at TTU. She will present current research on the economic effects of drug prohibition.

Additionally, Judge John Delaney and Ms. Redford will participate in a Q & A session with the audience. Judge Delaney served in the 272nd District Court in Brazos County, Texas, for sixteen years and from 2001 to present as a Senior District Judge on child abuse and neglect cases.

Admission is FREE! Food and beverage are available for purchase. RSVP here!
